Goddard Veterinary Group opened the Harrow Weald surgery in 2003. The site was originally a butcher’s shop and the original cobbled yard and stable used by the butcher for his horse survive at the rear of the building.

Meet the Team

Samantha Bloomfield  BSc MA VetMB GPCert(SAS) MRCVS (LVI)
Samantha was appointed as branch Veterinary Surgeon in June 2009. She qualified as a Veterinary Surgeon from Cambridge University in 2005 and has a degree in Nutrition from King’s College, University of London (1997). She has a special interest in surgery and neonate intensive care. She has wide-ranging experience from being involved in competitive dog obedience, showing cats and running an intensive care unit for new born puppies and kittens. Samantha accepts referrals for intensive care for newborn puppies and kittens and has also been appointed Veterinary Consultant to the Pet Dog Training Instructors (PDTI) courses at Harper Adams University. Samantha has just completed sabbatical leave working in Indonesia with dogs, cats, monkeys and the endangered Sun Bears.

Jacqui Read
Jacqui joined the branch as a part time receptionist shortly after its opening in 2003, and is a well known and trusted familiar face at the surgery to pets and clients alike.

Leigh Golik
Leigh joined the Practice in September 2009 as a part time receptionist having previously worked as a secretary in the City for fifteen years.

Sarah Reilly
Sarah joined us in March 2011 to start her preliminary veterinary nurse training.  Sarah also volunteers at London Zoo and hopes in the future to work with the red pandas in Bhutan.  Sarah lives locally and has three guinea pigs of her own.

Keeley Ewart – RVN
Keeley joined us in June 2011 and qualified as a Veterinary Nurse in January 2012. She has been nursing for six years in the local area. Keeley has a keen interest in veterinary anaesthesia and intensive care. She is a Pet Plan insurance advisor. Keeley has two horses, Beehlan and Cabochon.

Willow
Willow is our practice cat. She was handed in as a stray and apart from a recent ten day break has never left the surgery. Our clients have come to know Willow well as she spends most of her time on reception trying to look busy.

Free Pre Vaccination Consultations

If you have a new pet please contact us to arrange a pre vaccination complimentary health check with our veterinary surgeon.

Free Pet Insurance Cover

In addition to the above and in conjunction with Pet Plan we offer free pet insurance cover for a period of four weeks to all eligible animals presented for vaccination. For further details please talk to your local surgery and for further details of policies see www.petplan.co.uk.

Veterinary Recommended Diets

All of our surgeries also stock veterinary recommended diets. Each pet has individual dietary needs which we would be happy to discuss with you. Prescription diets are also available for pets with specific medical requirements.

Arranging a home visit

We understand that sometimes clients prefer their pet to be seen in the familiar surroundings of their own home so home visits can be arranged by appointment and subject to availability. Please call the surgery for more information.

Out of hours and emergencies

In the event of a veterinary emergency or if your pet is unwell out of hours our Hospitals offer your pets a dedicated emergency service and the reassurance of knowing we are open 24 hours a day, every day of the year. Our computers are linked ensuring that we have access to your pet’s full clinical history.
