Animal Craino logoSome amongst you may have come across Craniosacral Therapy for yourselves or have heard of its popularity treating new born babies, or for behavioural difficulties with children and you may have discovered benefits to your physical or emotional well being.

Former Harley Street Craniosacral practitioner Simon Egerton (now works from his home in central London) has extended his practice to pet craniosacral therapy. As with homeopathy, he has found that animals can respond positively to holistic therapies and is convinced that this work has much to offer animals as well as their owners. “Wherever possible, I visit animals in their home environment, where they are usual more comfortable on their own territory and easier when meeting a therapist. Actually, my experience is that animals respond in a similar way to young children. In general, their systems are quicker and lighter to process than with adult humans, whose patterns are sometimes more compounded.”

For more information about pet craniosacral therapy visit the Animal Cranio website. Also, Simon encourages interested pet owners to call for chat about how this work might help their pet on 0207 437 9691.

The Craniosacral Therapy Association (CSTA) describes the therapy as:
Craniosacral therapy developed from the work of an American osteopath, Dr William Sutherland in the early 1900s. He discovered intrinsic movements of the bones in the head and his further research revealed different rhythms in the body. He inferred, from further observation, and later went on to demonstrate to his satisfaction, that these movements are inextricably linked with mental and emotional health and that restriction of these movements corresponds to a reduction of the natural capacity to self-heal.
